Over the last year, Scene have been looking into the value and implementation of community energy projects in Oaxaca, Mexico - a resource rich region counterbalanced by economic deprivation and unequal politics.

Working with the Scottish Government's ClimateXChange Secreteriat to assess the comparative costs of community and commercial renewable energy projects in Scotland. The research outputs aim to influence future community energy policy in the UK.
Scene provided support for the ECCI's ongoing Smart Accelerator Programme. Specifically, Scene identified and matched international best practice relevant SMEs to the low carbon projects within the programme.
This project was commissioned to assist policymakers in supporting community investment in commercial renewable energy projects, and implemented in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh. Based on Scene's community energy database, a typology for business models currently facilitating shared ownership in the UK was developed.
In a collaboration with Edinburgh University, and funded by the ClimateXchange, Scene investigated the social factors which influence the success of community energy schemes in Scotland.
