The Arisaig Community Trust (ACT) is a charity established for the development of the community of Arisaig, a village on the West Coast of Scotland. ACT sought to explore low-carbon options to reduce their carbon footprint and generate additional income for community benefit.
Scene is collaborating with ACT to deliver several high-level renewable energy options for the community. The scenarios investigated integrate: locally-owned solar PV and wind turbines, low-carbon heating systems, and an EV charging business model. Scene followed a demand-led approach to the study, matching baseline energy demand of the community against simulated future scenarios across various technologies, before recommending practicable next steps.
