We have been working with Greener Leith and Portobello Town (PEDAL) since late 2012. These groups had already attempted to developer a wind project in their own backyards, at Seafield in Edinburgh, but were thwarted. We suggested an alternate development approach, whereby the development could be in a rural area, where a land-deal could be achieved, with the local communities being engaged and brought into the project as partners. Thereafter a site in Invernesshire has become the home of the project.

Scene have helped to coordinate effort between all of the relevant stakeholders, with careful consideration of the complex nature of this particular project. Through Scene's involvement, the project was progressed into a successful agreement between the two communities, local stakeholders and a private landowner.

As project consultants, we offered project management support, technical assistance, performed financial scenario analysis and supplied pre-planning finance assistance. Unfortunately the project was denied planning permission in 2015 and an appeal was subsequently dismissed.
