Fife Community Renewables was a solar energy project led by Fife Community Climate Action Network (FCCAN), a Community Interest Company. The study, funded by the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), was undertaken by Scene in 2025 and 2026 to assess the feasibility of solar energy developments across six different regions in Fife, Scotland and support low carbon electricity generation measures. The work followed on from initial feasibility studies carried out in 2024, which identified the study sites amongst a wider selection of locations across Fife.

The project led with a technical review of the local grid infrastructure in proximity to the six study sites, aiming to understand the level of grid constraints facing each potential development and their subsequent feasibility. The viable sites were progressed to the detailed modelling and design stage, which also sought to investigate potential supply opportunities with nearby energy users. Engineering and associated documents were produced to prepare the development(s) for pre-planning, as well as a grid connection offer application for further progression of the project.
